    Today we’re talking with Dr. Lindsay Kite, the founder of Beauty Redefined and co-author of More Than A Body: Your Body is an Instrument, Not an Ornament. Together with her twin sister, they are dedicated to promoting body image resilience. 

    Dr. Lindsay Kite is co-author of the new book “More Than a Body” and co-director of the nonprofit Beauty Redefined, alongside her identical twin sister Lexie Kite. They both received PhDs from the University of Utah in the study of female body image and have become leading experts in body image resilience and media literacy. Today, Lindsay and Lexie continue to help girls and women recognize and reject the harmful effects of objectification in their lives through their new book, their online Body Image Resilience course, social media activism, and regular speaking engagements for thousands of people of all ages. Lindsay lives in New York City.

    Today we’re unpacking what unapologetic eating means with dietitian friend Alissa Rumsey. Alissa is passionate about advocating for women to reclaim the space to eat and live unapologetically. She recently released the book Unapologetic Eating: Make Peace With Food and Transform Your Life.

    Alissa Rumsey MS, RD, CDN, CSCS is a nationally recognized and award-winning registered dietitian nutritionist and the founder of Alissa Rumsey Nutrition and Wellness. Alissa specializes in Intuitive Eating, body acceptance and disordered eating recovery. Her philosophy is rooted in the anti-diet and Health at Every Size (HAES®) approach.

    As a Certified Intuitive Eating Counselor, she helps people cultivate a healthy and peaceful relationship with food and their bodies. Alissa is also a monthly contributor to US News and World Report and has appeared in over 100 media outlets including NBC Nightly News, Health Magazine, SELF and Women’s Health. Alissa earned dual Bachelor of Science degrees in Dietetics and Exercise Science from the University of Delaware and a Master’s of Science degree in Health Communications from Boston University. In her spare time, Alissa can be found traveling to far-off countries, and, as a self-proclaimed “foodie,” exploring the expansive New York City food and restaurant scene.

Cala is an Associate Professor of Computer Science at Georgetown University. In addition to researching cutting­ edge technology, he also writes about the impact of these innovations on our culture. Newport is the author of six books, including the New York Times bestseller, Digital Minimalism, which argues that we should be much more selective about the technologies we adopt in our personal lives, and Deep Work, which argues that focus is the new I.Q. in the modern workplace.
