    Vanilla Chai Latte

June 24, 2021 by Jessica Leave a Comment

Double tap if you love a good chai latte! Did you know that the word chai comes from the Hindi word meaning “tea”? The chai latte is one of my all-time favorite beverages because it’s so rich, flavorful and delicious – especially if you add whipped cream and caramel on top.

For this recipe, we teamed up with @planetoat and used their Vanilla Oatmilk. We love Planet Oat because their products taste great (my husband is obsessed with them too!) and offer an excellent source of vitamins A & D. You can also use Planet Oat Oatmilk in baked dishes, smoothies and even oatmeal. What’s not to love?

Optional: Top with whipped cream and caramel

    Vanilla Chai Latte
    Ingredients
    • 3 cups Planet Oat Vanilla Oatmilk
    • 2 Black tea bags
    • 1 tbsp Ground cinnamon
    • 1 tsp Ground cloves
    • 1/4 tsp Ground cardamom
    • 2 tsps Ground nutmeg
    • 1 tsp Ginger
    • 2 tsps Sugar
    • 1/2 tsp Pure Vanilla Extract
    • Optional  Top with whipped cream and caramel
    Instructions
    1. In a medium saucepan, heat Planet Oat Vanilla Oatmilk, spices, sugar and tea bags on medium high heat until it comes to boil. Reduce to simmer for 10 minutes. Strain through a fine-mesh strainer, then stir in vanilla extract and…. FROTH (if you don’t have a frother, you can shake it in a jar). Top with optional whipped cream and caramel. Enjoy!

    Cinnamon Rolls

April 29, 2021 by Jessica Leave a Comment

Disclosure: This Breakfast Cinnamon Roll recipe is sponsored by Planet Oat. Thank you for supporting the work we’re doing at Food Heaven!

Breakfast just got upgraded with these moist, subtly sweet cinnamon rolls made w/ Planet Oat Unsweetened Oatmilk! You can make these when you’re having a slow morning and they will fill your place with the dreamiest smells. Top with butter, fruit jam, nuts or whatever you’re in the mood for. Since my sweet tooth isn’t all there I was shy with sugar but you can add more if you prefer things on the sweeter side!

I’ve been OBSESSED w/ @PlanetOat milks lately. They’re creamy, taste great and offer an excellent source of vitamins A & D. They’re also incredibly flexible and can work in baked dishes, smoothies, oatmeal and in your coffee! There’s plenty of flavor varieties to choose from and so many fun uses!

These buns will keep for 3 days at room temperature or can be frozen and thawed when ready to enjoy! Warm tastes better so pop them into the microwave when you’re ready to eat. I topped these with a homemade berry lemon jam. SO GOOD. Stick around for more fun Planet Oat Oatmilk recipe ideas coming up in the next few months, and enjoy!

    Cinnamon Rolls
    Servings: 10 Rolls
    Ingredients
    • 4 cups all purpose flour
    • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
    • 2.5 teaspoons active dry yeast
    • 1/2 teaspoon salt
    • 1 cup Unsweetened Planet Oat Oatmilk
    • 1/4 cup softened butter
    • 2 eggs at room temperature, whisked
    For Filling
    • 2 tablespoons softened butter
    • 1 tablespoon  ground cinnamon
    • 1/4 cup  brown sugar
    Instructions
    1. In a large bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, yeast and salt. Set aside.

    2. Microwave the oatmilk and butter for a minute until butter is melted and the oatmilk is warm (make sure it’s not hot!) and whisk together.

    3. Pour the oatmilk mixture and whisked eggs into the dry ingredients and mix together roughly with a metal spoon.

    4. Then knead with your hands for 4-5 minutes. You should have a moist dough ball that barely sticks to your hands. If the dough is too wet, slowly sprinkle in flour and knead until you get the right consistency. If it’s too dry, add a few drops of warm water and continue kneading.

    5. Add the dough ball to a new greased bowl, cover tightly with plastic wrap and allow to rise for 90 minutes until it has doubled in size.

    6. Dust a flat surface with flour (you can also lay parchment paper down for easier cleanup) and remove the dough from the bowl and roll it out to a 14×8” rectangle.

    7. Spread softened butter onto the dough. Mix together cinnamon and sugar in a small bowl and sprinkle onto the buttered dough.

    8. Tightly roll up the dough starting from the 8” side and then cut into 10-12 slices with floss or a serrated knife.

    9. Assemble onto a greased baking pan that comfortably fits all the rolls and cover tightly with plastic wrap. Allow the rolls to rise for an hour until doubled in size.

    10. Preheat the oven to 375F. Bake uncovered for 20 minutes. Allow to cool and enjoy!
