IMG_0609This pizza is totally nutrient packed. The spinach in this recipe is full of vitamin A, vitamin K, manganese, folate, and many other essential vitamins and minerals.  The broccoli is an excellent source of vitamin K which helps with blood clotting and folate that helps with brain function.  Garlic is an anti-inflammatory ingredient. When our bodies suffer from chronic inflammation, it can lead to diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis, digestive diseases, cancers, cardiovascular disease, and other diseases. Anti-inflammatory foods, like garlic, may help alleviate these conditions.

IMG_0595To prep this pizza, start by preheating the oven to 425. While you wait on the oven, chop up your garlic, onion, and veggies into smaller pieces and saute them in some olive oil for 3-5 minutes. Trader Joe’s makes a pre-made dough that is super simple to buy and even easier to make.  Roll out the pizza crust to fit your pan.  Add the pizza sauce to your crust then add your veggies evenly over the pizza. And for the grand finale, cover that baby in cheese.  Bake the pizza for 12-15 minutes, remove it from the oven, and sprinkle with garlic salt and fresh black pepper to taste!

IMG_0600You can also make your own crust! Check out this recipe we made here for a whole wheat pizza crust.  Pizza is such a fun meal to throw in whatever veggies you want.  Try out some peppers, mushrooms, pineapple, you name it! This pizza looks so delicious! Traditionally, I make a traditional pepperoni pizza. However, I’ve been trying to limit red meat and get more greens into my system. I’m so excited to try this vegetarian pizza recipe! Thanks so much for sharing! I think that I’ll try making it this Saturday after my son’s football game.

I thought this was a great idea! I mean, I’ll never break out of my meaty cheesy pizzas, but my wife really likes veggie stuff. I do love broccoli though, so even I would partake in some of this. I’ll have to show this to my wife, that way we can compromise on pizza night!
