- 1 Field Roast Italian Sausage
- 1 green bell pepper, sliced
- 1 1/2 red bell pepper, sliced
- 1/2 onion, sliced
- 2 teaspoons of olive oil divided
- 2 baguettes
- 5 slices of cheese (I used mozzarella but any sliced cheese will do)
- Salt to taste
- Pepper to taste
- Garlic, optional
- Chili powder, optional

Preheat oven to 400F

Slice the Field Roast sausage in half, lengthwise, and then cut into pieces, diagonally

Next, sauté sausage on medium heat with 1 teaspoon of olive oil for 5 minutes or until part of the sausage has browned

Remove sausage from pan, then add remaining 1 teaspoon of olive oil and saute sliced peppers/onion until the onion is translucent in color. This is also where you add chopped garlic if desired. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Slice each baguette and layer the inside with 2 slices of cheese, then add the sausage, peppers/onions.

Top each baguette with another 1⁄2 slice of cheese and then place baguettes on a baking sheet in the oven for ~5 minutes or until bread is toasted and cheese is melted. Add optional chili pepper to top if off if desired.
