Greek yogurt is a hot topic nowadays. Greek yogurt is just another type of yogurt that is processed to remove the whey (or the watery part of the yogurt) to create a thicker consistency. Let me tell you, it can take some getting used to but trust me it is worth it! It took me a few tries to enjoy Greek yogurt, but now I won’t eat anything else! Greek yogurt is great for a higher protein yogurt option. All yogurt is also full of probiotics which help to keep our gut bacteria healthy, improving digestion and immune system function.
This recipe is totally simple. All you need is about six ounces of Greek yogurt, half a cup of your favorite fresh or frozen fruit, and one or two tablespoons of granola. All you need to do is mix it all together. Easy, peasy.
Here is where we give you all of our tips and tricks to get the most out of this recipe. This is great for packing healthy snacks when you need something on the go. Bring to work, bring before running errands, bring to the kids’ soccer game. Toss the yogurt and fruit into a mason jar or other container and bring the granola in a baggie. When you’re ready to eat, just top with the granola and enjoy!
To save some money, make your own granola. Store bought granolas can be loaded with sugar and can be very overpriced, so help your body and pocketbook out and make your own!
